SARIS works for you

On this page you will find the privacy statement of SARIS.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

This Privacy Statement applies to the processing of personal data by SARIS Aanhangers B.V., with its registered office at Metaalweg 7 in Hapert (hereinafter referred to as “SARIS” and/or “we”). SARIS respects the privacy of visitors to its saris.net and sarisforyou.net websites and ensures that all personal data that you provide to SARIS is treated as strictly confidential. In this Privacy Statement, we set out how we collect personal data and how we handle it.

SARIS processes personal data if you have used our products or services and if you have provided us with the personal data in question (via our website, for example).

WHICH PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

If you use the contact form on our saris.net website, we will collect your name, e-mail address, IP address and possibly your telephone number too. If you use the quote form or order form on our website, we will collect your name, address, e-mail address, IP address and telephone number. We may also collect your company name. If you would like to place an order, we may also collect your location details (but only with your consent), which will make it possible for us to identify the dealer closest to and most convenient for you. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will collect your e-mail address.

When you register your trailer via the warranty registration process on saris.net, we will collect your Registration ID, the chassis number of your trailer and your name, address and e-mail address. We may also collect data on your gender, age, the type of use for which the trailer is intended, your sector or industry, your reason for buying a SARIS trailer and whether you wish to subscribe to the newsletter.

COOKIES

We use cookies to optimise use of our website. A cookie is a small text file that is saved on the browser on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit our website for the first time. See our cookie statement on cookies for a more detailed overview of the cookies we use.

SARIS uses Google Analytics. The data collected via Google Analytics is shared with other Google products that collect personal data. See https://policies.google.com/privacy to read more about Google privacy policy.

WHY WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We use the data that we collect to:

  • enter into an agreement or to convert a quote into an agreement;
  • enable us to bring in the dealer to place and deliver your order;
  • confirm your order;
  • establish whether or not the period in which you are able to complete the warranty registration process has expired;
  • enable us to answer your questions (in a personal way);
  • ensure that you are always able to locate your downloaded files;
  • contact you with newsletters that could be relevant for you, if you have subscribed to them;
  • identify you, as a buyer, and the product you have bought;
  • identify the communication language to be used;
  • continue to develop and improve the website and our services and systems and, by doing, this, provide you with a better service; and
  • optimally align the content of and resources on our website to your specific preferences.

Bases
We process the personal data identified above in line with the following bases:

  • Consent: if we have asked you for your consent to process your personal data and you grant the consent requested. In this situation, you will have the right to withdraw your consent again at any time;
  • In the framework of an agreement: if you buy a service from us. For example, if you request a quote, place a direct order or apply for a warranty, we will process the personal data necessary for the provision of the service in question;
  • A justified interest: we are also permitted to process personal data if we have a justified interest in doing so and do not disproportionately invade your privacy as a result. For example, we will process your IP address given the direct marketing interest we have in doing so.

When you buy our services or visit our website, it will never be our intention to collect data about website visitors who are under the age of 16, except where we have the consent of parents or guardians to do so. Given our inability to check whether a visitor is older than 16, we advise parents to be aware of the online activities of their children, which will prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. If you are sure that we have collected personal data about a minor without consent, contact us via info@saris.net and we will delete the information in question.

AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING

We do not make any decisions about matters that could have (far-reaching) consequences for people on the basis of automated processing operations. The decisions in question are those made by computer programs or systems, without the intervention of a human (a SARIS employee, for example).

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA

SARIS will retain your personal data no longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it is collected, except where retention is required in accordance with legislation and regulations.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES

We are permitted to engage service providers (processors) to process personal data. We will only provide data to third parties if necessary for the performance of our agreement with you (in support situations, for example) or to comply with a legal obligation. We also use the services of third parties that might be given access to personal data when supporting our systems and delivering products and services (when sending newsletters, for example). If companies process your personal data on our behalf, we enter into a data processing agreement with them to ensure that the same level of security and confidentiality is maintained in relation to your data.

TRANSFERRING YOUR PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE THE EU

It may sometimes be necessary to transfer your personal data to parties located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). For example, to send newsletters and process the data provided via web forms.

We are only permitted to transfer personal data outside the European Union if the receiving parties guarantee an appropriate level of protection, or if another specific deviation applies under the GDPR.

All processors that deliver our services (when sending online newsletters and mailings, for example) outside the EEA and are located in the United States will have self-certified to the EU-US Privacy Shield. See https://www.privacyshield.gov/welcome for more information.

YOUR RIGHTS IN RELATION TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw or limit any consent you might previously have given for data processing and to object to the processing of your personal data by SARIS. Your right to data portability means that you can request us to send you, or an organisation of your choice, a computer file containing all of the personal data we have that pertain to you.

Please send all personal-date access, correction, deletion and data-transfer requests and requests to withdraw your consent or object to the processing of your personal data to info@saris.net. To verify that you are the originator of a request to access your personal data, always include a copy of your identity document with your request. To protect your privacy, always black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone; the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and citizen service number (BSN). This consent may be withdrawn at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of the processing effected on the basis of your consent prior to the time of its withdrawal.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible, being within a period of four weeks at the very latest. We would also like to point out that you have the right to submit a complaint to the national supervisory authority: the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

HOW WE SECURE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

SARIS takes the protection of your data seriously and puts appropriate measures in place to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised changes. If you believe that your data has not been secured properly, if there are signs of misuse, or if you have any questions, please contact our Client Services team or info@saris.net.

SARIS is free to update this Privacy Statement at any time. We would like to invite you to regularly consult this Privacy Statement, which will ensure that you are always up-to-date.
